Pamela MacDonald

Pamela MacDonald, a native of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia has performed as a soloist extensively in Oratorio,
Recital, and Opera. The spirit, freshness and dexterity she brings to her portrayals of roles such as
Cherubino, Dorabella, Rosina, Hansel, Dido, and Carmen, have been critically acclaimed across both
Canada and the United States. She has performed with the Canadian Opera Company, Opera Ontario,
Augusta Opera, and Toledo Opera, among others. Pamela has sung with conductors such as Georg
Tintner, Boris Brott, and Richard Bradshaw. She performed as soloist in Bach’s major Oratorios,
Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Mozart’s and Verdi’s Requiem, Mahler’s 8th Symphony, and many Messiah
broadcasts.

Pamela has proven herself a sensitive, and intelligent interpreter of oratorio repertoire. Recital credits
include an Operatic video with modern interpretation produced for the Bravo Network, Columbia Artists
Community Concerts, and several art song recitals throughout Ontario, and the Maritimes. In addition,
Pamela adjudicates festivals of music, continues to perform regularly, and mentored with some of today’s
most respected teachers and artists.

At the young age of 21, Pamela was the Canadian Music Competition (CMC) Vocal winner. Her great
flexibility, range, and versatility as an actress and singer was also revealed nightly for three consecutive
years in the Toronto cast production of The Phantom of the Opera. Pamela is a graduate of the Canadian
Opera Company Ensemble Studio and she holds a Bachelor of Arts from Dalhousie University and a
Diploma in Operatic Performance, Masters in Vocal Pedagogy and DMA ABD from the University of
Toronto. Teaching voice is her guided dream.
